I’m tweaking my talk and packing my bags and early Friday morning, God willing, The Deacon’s Wife and I will be winging our way to Anaheim, bound for the LA Religious Ed Congress.
If you’re in the neighborhood, please look for me and say hello. I’ll be speaking at 2:30 on Saturday — unpacking the topic, “Are Deacons the Answer?” — and I think my publisher, Ave Maria Press, has arranged a book signing to follow. But I will otherwise be wandering the exhibit hall — gawking, admiring candles and books and holy medals, and looking for familiar names and faces in the crowd. It’s ComicCon for Catholics!
This is always a dynamic weekend — here comes everybody! — and after going virtual last year, the congress is hoping and praying for a healthy turnout.
See you soon — and please pray for all of us as who will be speaking, preaching, exploring and connecting. This is a welcome reminder that It’s a Big Church — and I’m privileged and humbled to be a part of this memorable event.
