I think we could use this right about now, a little Easter chaser at the end of the feast.
I’ve posted it in years past, and it never fails to lift my heart: Christopher Walker’s “Out of Darkness,” sung by the folk choir at the University of Notre Dame. This was one of the hymns at the Mass of Thanksgiving after my ordination 13 years ago.
At a moment when a lot of us are straining to see the sunlight, through drawn shades and locked doors and masks of various sizes and shapes, this offers a promising anthem of radiant hope and blessed clarity. The darkness lifts!
Enjoy. And Happy Easter! He is risen!
