The Fall Retreat-a-Palooza continues.
This morning, I’m headed to Florida, to St. Augustine and the Marywood Retreat Center to lead a retreat for the deacons and their wives. I was just there in June, doing the pre-ordination retreat for the deacon candidates. I had a great time.
Back then, I didn’t have a hurricane to contend with. This weekend, I do.
Hurricane Nicole (now a tropical storm) is pounding northeast Florida before heading inland. This could make flying interesting. (So far, our flight hasn’t been cancelled.) The Deacon’s Wife is coming with me — “It’s a beautiful spot,” I told her. “You’ll love it!” — but it may not be quite as idyllic and peaceful as we had hoped. But isn’t that true about so many things?
Life is full of storms. Pray for us!
