This is your chance!
The legendary uber-deacon (and, I confess, a good friend and mentor) is leading a pilgrimage to Italy next spring, from April 15-26, 2024. This one is truly unique, titled “In the Footsteps of Pope St. John XXIII.” This will be a chance to visit beautiful sites, enjoy great food, and see with your own eyes the world that shaped a future saint (one whose influence is still shaping the church today).
Included in the itinerary: visits to Milan and Bergamo; a stop in Sotto il Monte, where the future pope was born; a visit to Venice; an overnight stay in Assisi; plus a four-day stretch in Rome to relive the dramatic history that helped bring forth the Second Vatican Council. If you’ve been to Italy, chances are you haven’t experienced it quite like this. Along the way, Deacon Bill will be giving talks (and, I suspect, homilies!) and helping to bring alive some of the most important chapters of our recent church history.
The good people of Select International Tours are behind this trip. They are the folks who arranged the Holy Land pilgrimage I led last spring, and are planning the one I will be heading up next May. They do great work, and make the journey almost effortless.
