This week, The New York Times superb videographer Ben Proudfoot profiled writer Jason Berry — the first person who reported in depth on the sex abuse crisis, long before The Boston Globe. It’s part of the Times’ excellent “Almost Famous” series, about people who have had an extraordinary impact, but may be largely unknown. As the Times describes the series: “They made history — but didn’t make it into the history books. Now they tell their stories in their own words.”
Which is what Jason Berry does here. Watch the short video below. Powerful, devastating, heartbreaking, inspiring. It’s all of those things.
