Deacon Mark Miller of the Josephinum Diaconate Institute dropped me a note recently. He wanted me to know they have a shiny new Facebook page up and running — and he shared this news:

The Josephinum Diaconate Institute [JDI] is thrilled to announce that it has been awarded a grant from the Lilly Endowment’s Pathways for Tomorrow (PFT) Initiative. This five-year, $879,000 grant will help fund the JDI’s initiatives to strengthen initial and ongoing formation for aspirants, candidates, and permanent deacons.

The National Association of Diaconate Directors, the Center for the Applied Research in the Apostolate, the National Diaconate Institute for Continuing Education, the Fundación Ramon Pane, the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, and a number of other institutions and subject matter experts will be working with JDI.

Deacons or associates with expertise and/or experience in the area of ongoing formation of deacons and would like to contribute to this most critical work, please contact the Josephinum Diaconate Institute at (614) 985-2222 or email JDI@pcj.edu.

Read more about the Lilly grant at the Josephinum Diaconate Institute website [diaconate.pcj.edu]; we look forward to hearing from you!
