Last week, I was privileged to direct their pre-ordination retreat; Saturday morning, June 11, just hours after completing the retreat, they were ordained by Bishop Filipe Estévez at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
As Bishop Estévez noted during the retreat: he began his ministry in St. Augustine in 2011 by ordaining deacons; now he concludes his time as bishop by ordaining deacons. He clearly has great affection for these men and this vocation.
