Every summer for a long time now, the National Diaconate Institute for Continuing Education (NDICE) has hosted a conference for deacons and their wives. What started in the mid-70s as three-day event in Collegeville soon grew into a bigger gathering at Notre Dame, and then moved to Xavier University, which is where I first discovered it. COVID interrupted this summer gathering for a year or two, but now NDICE is roaring back.
This year’s meetings will be held on July 16-19 at Holy Trinity Parish in Fairview Heights, Illinois — and I’ll be one of the speakers. The theme is Christ: the Gift of Himself in the Eucharist.
It’s always a great event — read more about it here — and a wonderful opportunity to meet other deacons and their wives from around the country. A good time is had by all.
