‘This church is the pulse of this parish’: The installation of my new pastor

I thought I’d post this, for those who might be interested.

This is from Saturday afternoon: the homily and part of the liturgy for the installation of Father Frank Passenant as the 7th pastor at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church in Forest Hills, New York.

This includes his predecessor, Bishop Paul Sanchez, introducing him — and, characteristically, getting choked up — along with Father Passenant’s remarks, the signing of various documents, the introduction of clergy and staff, and the new pastor’s Oath of Fidelity.

All in all, a remarkable and beautiful day, and a little moment of history in my corner of Queens.
