There’s been a lot of talk on social media about the new ad for Florida’s Ron DeSantis, suggesting God’s endorsement.  It hasn’t been warmly embraced.  (“Blasphemous” and “self-flattering” are two of the kinder descriptions that have popped up online.) The tweet that publicized the ad — sent by DeSantis’s wife — has been taken down.

Its roots go back several years, to the late Paul Harvey and Dodge. In 2013, the car company took  his 1978 speech to the Future Farmers of America and reworked it into a Super Bowl ad.
