I subscribe to Amy Welborn’s blog, “Charlotte was Both,” and clicked open the email for her latest posting tonight — and she mentioned this news right off the bat:
Wow, something I wrote finally got a mention in Publisher’s Weekly.
I mean, not mentioned – but the cover image is in the article. So there’s that.
Who knows what’s next??!
The article is all about a boomlet of books about Pope Leo — Amy did one such book for my friends at Bayard/Living Faith — and when I looked through the article, well, there was this illustration:

That’s my little book, second from the right. Well, how about that?
And they even mentioned it and interviewed my editor.
From Publisher’s Weekly:
Word Among Us Press’s Peace Be with All of You: The Message and Mission of Pope Leo XIV, by Deacon Greg Kandra, includes the Dilexi Te text. But, says publisher Beth McNamara, the book is primarily a deep look “through many original sources, from Pope Leo’s early childhood to his papacy, to paint a picture of the whole person—to help the reader understand his roots, his perspectives, and his priorities.”
That sound you hear is my jaw hitting the floor.
Kudos to the ever-alert Amy. I’m glad someone pays attention to Publisher’s Weekly. Me, it’s all I can do to keep up with my emails.
And things are getting busy around here, too. I went to the mall today for a repair job on my rosary — which the jewelry store did for free, because it’s Holy Week and they’re Catholic! — and spent time this afternoon working on my homilies for the weekend and, after dinner, decided to stand in the street outside our house and watch a rocket go to the moon (a first for me as a new Floridian!) You can see what I saw below. Color commentary by the family across the street.
These are the days of miracles and wonders. Life is good.
