Some signs of hope in the Archdiocese of Newark.
These images were posted on the Facebook page for the Seton Hall Seminary School of Theology with this notation:
The Rite of Admission to Candidacy for Holy Orders.
52 Permanent Deacons for the Archdiocese of Newark. Pray for them, and continue to pray for vocations.
The Church is blessed to celebrate this group of men and their “Yes” to God’s Call to serve.
Can I hear an “Amen!”?

Lord,
You know the plans you have for all of us:
you call us to give, to love, to labor, to serve.
But so often, we do not hear.
Father of sound and light,
open our ears and our eyes,
so we may hear what you want and see what you plan.
We pray, especially, for vocations.
We pray that more of our brothers
answer your call to the diaconate.
We pray for them.
We pray they have the courage to say “Yes.”
We pray for their families and friends,
we pray that those you are calling will not only say “Yes,”
but that they will know the joy of that “Yes”
every moment of their lives.
Help us to help them
and trust always in your holy will.
We ask this through the intercession of your greatest disciple
and greatest servant,
the one whose “Yes” made all things possible:
Mary, Queen of Clergy, the Queen of Deacons,
