On Friday, May 3, 2024, on the Feast of Saints Philip and James, at the Cathedral of St. Francis of Assisi in Metuchen, Bishop Checchio ordained 15 men to the permanent diaconate and one to the transitional diaconate for service in the Church of Metuchen.
