From the Diocese of Tulsa and Eastern Oklahoma Facebook page:

On the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe [December 12], Bishop David Konderla celebrated a Mass of Holy Orders at Holy Family Cathedral to ordain Mr. Harrison Garlick into the permanent diaconate. Mr. Garlick currently serves the Diocese of Tulsa and Eastern Oklahoma as Chancellor and In-House Counsel. After reading a passage on the service-oriented ministry of the diaconate from Lumen Gentium, Bishop Konderla exhorted Mr. Garlick, “The imposition of hands you receive today represents, from the time of the Apostles, the Church’s choice of you and the special connection you have with me and my successors. It will confer on you a gift of the Holy Spirit that will commit you to exercise a sacred power that can only come from Christ through His Church. In your case, as a deacon, the gift of the Holy Spirit that you will receive will conform you to the figure of Christ the Servant.”
